How do you think your English writing skills have improved after completing this Wix e-portfolio? (You can talk about your improvement in these aspects: vocabulary, grammar, writing skills, motivation and confidence in writing, and interaction with peers.)

To be honest, in the beginning of this course, I could not handle the assignments and tests, and I believed I was under great pressure at that time. Not only because I had to find a lot of information before starting to write an article, but I was not good at organizing the structure. Therefore, I really appreciated those tool training and paraphrase tests. Though they were literally a bit annoying and difficult, it did help a lot. I actually have more confidence in writing now. Though I am not sure whether my writing skills have improved or not, I actually feel happy while writing the problem-solution essay, reading through those academic articles and trying to paraphrase the important information that I want to share with others. Writing is not so difficult for me now. Soooo, well, perhaps my English writing skills have improved a little bit.

       

What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for the final essay drafts?

 I quite like it. It is good to have a platform to collect and display my works, and I really enjoy reading my peers’ composition.

       

What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for journal writing and commenting?

To be honest, sharing my journals on the Wix embarrassed me a little in the beginning. You know, it meant that I had to share my life with my classmates, and it seemed a bit...awkward. But since reading and making a comment on my peers’ journal is soooo interesting, I think uploading our journal on the Wix may be a good idea.

  

Do you think that journal writing should be conducted in the same way as essay writing (i.e., Draft 1, peer review, Draft 2, conferencing, and Draft 3 on Wix)? Why or why not?

 NO WAY!! Please don’t make things complicated. Look, I know there are many grammatical errors in our writing, but I think it is acceptable, no um...I mean, even native speakers would make some grammatical mistakes, not to mention us. Well, the reasons why writing journal is an interesting thing not only because we can write about anything we want, but we do not have to be judged by anyone. So, I disagree this proposal.

  

What did you benefit from TA feedback after you posted each final essay draft and journal on your Wix e-portfolio? (TA feedback was presented via Excel file and PPT slides).

It’s good. I know I still have room for improvement; as a result, every piece of advice to improve my writing is important to me. Besides, I want to thank TA for helping me to deal with those “technical problem.”  Few weeks ago, I was informed the links I provided did not work, and that totes freaked me out. Even though I spent over half an hour trying to figure out what was going on, I still had no idea how to deal with it. Therefore, I turned to TA for help, and she managed it for me. Thanks!!

  

What did you benefit from conducting self-assessment and peer-assessment of the Wix e-portfolio in the second semester?

 My peer helps me know how can I improve my Wix e-portfolio. As for self-assessment, it helps me to check what I have done and what I haven’t.

 

How did this Wix e-portfolio enhance your skills other than writing?

It enhances my communication skills because it provides me an opportunity to interact with my peers, and I really enjoying reading their articles. Besides, since I have to upload my works on the Wix in time, it enhances my time management skills as well.

 

Overall, what did you benefit from creating and managing this Wix e-portfolio? How is it different from uploading your assignments on ecourse2?

 Just as I mentioned before. Wix is an excellent platform for us to collect and display our works to peers and other people. Besides, it is interesting to read through my peers’ articles and make some comments on them via Wix. It also enhances my writing, communication and time management skills. Therefore, compared to uploading my assignments directly on ecourese2, it is even more interesting to creating my own website. If I create my own website and upload my works on it, it is much easier for me to reread what I wrote before.

  

Challenges

What difficulties have you encountered in terms of creating and editing your Wix e-portfolio over these two semesters?​

The links I copied and pasted on the Excel did not work, and...I still don’t know why.

 

Among all the difficulties mentioned above, what was the most challenging one? How did you handle this challenge?

The only challenging difficulty I encountered recently is about the links, and I turned to TA for help.

 

Will you continue to use or write posts on this Wix e-portfolio in the future? Why or why not?

 Since I do not have any writing courses in the future, I am not sure if I will continue to upload some articles on it. However, I think maybe I will keep writing journals and share them on the Wix.
