A Mobile Game, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened
Harry Potter is one of my favorite series of movies, and I really admire the wizarding world created by JK Rowling. To show how much I am into Harry Potter, I’ve actually seen Harry Potter and The Cursed Child in Broadway in UK, and I also bought a golden snitch necklace there. Therefore, while NetEase was reportedly going to launch a mobile game called Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, I couldn't help but scream! I’m soon addicted to this game once I downloaded it, and now, I’m going to tell you how interesting this game is!
This game combines RPG story-telling and card-based combat, and its story starts ten years after Harry Potter’s legendary victory over Lord Voldemort at the battle of Hogwarts. Before you play this game, you need to find three people to be your roommates so that four of you could log into the game together. In your dormitory, you can earn some e-money used in game by cleaning the floor, growing plants, and making magical potions, such as Baruffio's Brain Elixir, which can boost your brain’s performance while you attend the lessons. In addition, you will be sorted out into different Hogwarts Houses, which includes Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. You will also be able to customize your character, attend several lessons, explore Forbidden Forest, purchase clothes or even buy your own wands in Diagon Alley and join the Duelling Club, etc.
The core of this game is a card-based RTS (Real-time Strategy), where spells turn into different form of cards, which you could draw in the library. I think the most appealing aspect of this game is that no matter how higher your card level is, it is the skill take you to win. Moreover, if you are not a fan of battling, you might also attend the balls or go to play Quidditch.
As for my favorite part of this game, I like to battle with other players in the Duelling Club. In there, you can choose single match, double match, or friendly match. I usually play friendly matches with one of my online friends, his name is golden pineapple kun, and we barely lose.
