Hello, my name is Esther.
Welcome to my secret forest.
start from 2021
Remote Learning
The outbreak of COVID-19 has dramatically changed almost all Taiwanese people’s life, and I am no exception. Because National Chung Cheng University made a timely announcement of distant learning right after a sharp rise in the cases of COVID-19 on May 6th, I was therefore forced to go back home because my parents asked me to do so. I packed up all my stuff, quit my part-time job and took public transportation to go back to Shuishang, my hometown, and much to my surprise, Shuishang is actually the most dangerous area in Chiayi county. As far as I know, many residents in my village are infected with coronavirus. As a result, my parents ask me to stay at home till the end of the summer break. However, the thing is, staying at home all day long almost drives me crazy!
Besides, some of my classmates and I decided to hold a summer camp for high school students from Jul. 7th to Jul. 10th, and there are still lots of preparation not being done yet. In the beginning, we thought we could finish the rest of the props after two weeks of distant learning. However, National Chung Cheng University suddenly decided to prolog remote learning starting from May 16th. In other words, we do not have enough time to prepare for the summer camp. Because we have already spent over thirteen thousand dollars on art supplies as well as camp T-shirts and we still have to repay the loan left by the former director of Student Association of DFLL, I feel extremely upset and anxious. To be honest, I hope we can keep preparing for our summer camp, but it is much more important to keep ourselves safe and healthy

Switching to distant learning is definitely one of the bad news in this semester. Online exam is another bad news for me by the way. In addition, because of COVID-19, I was forced to quit my part-time job, which means, I am as poor as a church mouse now. I know that keeping ourselves safe is the most important thing during the pandemic, just like Jim Rohn said, “take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” I really hope that we do not need to wear masks while studying at college next semester.
