My Childhood Sweetheart

Kai is 361 days younger than me, and ever since I remember, he always keeps me accompany. In other words, he is my childhood sweetheart. And...to be honest, he was quite cute when he was little, but he becomes annoying gradually LOL. We studied at the same kindergarten and elementary school, and after classes, we usually played tags, hide-and-seek, or truth or dare with our mutual friends. And most of his friends tended to call me “Kai’s sister;” therefore, it seemed like that I suddenly had a brother though none of our parents were the same.

When it comes to the dump but funny things we have done, I have loads of stories to tell you guys. Here I will give you an example. Because my mom prefers to vegetables rather than meat, she bought a small farm behind our house. In our leisure time, Kai and I usually jumped up and down in mud peddles there and made ourselves messy. One day, Kai asked me whether I knew the taste of mud, and I surely said I had no idea. Since we both wondered how mud tasted like, we grabbed a handful of mud and ate it, and we were scolded by our parents and had the runs a day after the day we ate mud. Whenever I recall these pieces of memories, I smile knowingly. However, after he graduated from primary school, he moved back to Taoyuan city, where his parents live.

Nevertheless, once our birthdays, Mid-Autumn Festivals or Christmas are getting nearer, he will pack up his things and return to Chiayi. Because our families “always” celebrated our birthdays together since we were little, Kai and I thus get used to celebrate our birthdays at the same time every year. This year, our friends, Kai and I chose a Korean restaurant to have rice cakes, seafood pancakes and some fried chicken. After finishing our lunch, we took a stroll and played monopoly game at home. We had a good time that day, and I’ll always cherish those precious memories.
Though we cannot meet each other often now, he is still one of my closest friends. I know no matter what kinds of obstacle that I encounter, he will always stand by my side and support me. Oh, by the way, he got a girlfriend this year, and she is super adorable! I’m so happy for him!
